9ice says he plans to quit music for politics

In an interview with Sun News, 9ice says he plans to quit music to concentrate fully on politics because he can't be singing at 35. He can't? What he said below...

Yes, I want to leave music for politics. Next year January, I will be 35-years-old and I’m not praying to still be in music at that age. I am serious about politics now. If you listen to my music, you would notice that politics has been part of me; it’s in my blood. When I started initially, I talked about being your brother’s keeper, and that’s why I studied Law at Lagos State University before I dropped out to concentrate on my music career. I hate when things go wrong. When two or three people are having issues, I love to get there to settle their differences. I have passion for politics and it has always been in my blood."
If you go fully into politics, most of your friends and fans will miss you?
I will say they will love me more by the time they see the plans that I have for them. I have so many plans on my mind. Imagine if the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was a politician, he will not just criticize the mistakes of our leaders but also correct them. Imagine if Wole Soyinka was to be the president of this nation, people like him are only preaching the truth and criticising the government but they are not ready to get into politics to make corrections. I am tired of preaching, I want to contribute my own quota for the sake of my people. We have graduates riding commercial motorcycles (okada), selling meat etc, their certificates are not being used but they are shouting that the government is not doing well. There can’t be any change if the youths don’t stand-up now to do something to help the country.

Al Makura
Al Makura
Al Makura revealed to TheNation that those officials had been removed due to betrayal and insubordination.

He revealed these through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Abdulhamid Kwarra, who explained that those affected were removed because they harbored political ambitions and were set to contest elective posts in 2015.

He said that the government has to keep on giving the people dividends of democracy, stressing that he was determined to expand the scope of infrastructural developments and economic growth in the state.
He said: “The state is calm and peaceful now, people are going about their normal businesses and we would continue to watch developments closely.”

He told the citizens to help the government and support the government’s peace-building efforts, stressing that no meaningful development takes place in an environment that is devoid of peace.
Umaru Tanko went from being a succesful businessman to becoming governor of Nasarawa State after winning the April 26 2011 election on the base of the Congress for Progressives Change ticket. He has since defected to the APC

Names Of Chibok Girls To Be Swapped; Abandoned Girl Pregnant

New hope for the nation has appeared again as it was learnt yesterday that Boko Haram listed 19 sect commanders for the swap with 30 Chibok girls, whose names were also provided.
Chibok girls showed in the video released by Abubakar Shekau
Chibok girls showed in the video released by Abubakar Shekau
The Nation reports with reference to its source that the Nigerian government and the coordinators of talks with the group have this list.
Apart from 19 key commanders names, the list includes 30 girls, who may be released to test the government’s commitment, after which the remaining 189 children could be set free.
According to the report, there are 15 Christian and 15 Muslim girls, who may reunite with their families after Eid-el-Kabir festival when the sides resume negotiations.

It is believed however that the Nigerian authorities still insist on the release of all the girls at one time, which would be a “meaningful swap deal”. Moreover, the government will return to the talks with only a request: release of all the girls, the source said.

Recent negotiation in Abuja were attended by human rights activist and President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria Shehu Sani, Red Cross officials, former Information Minister Edwin Clark and other prominent figures. Boko Haram side was represented by a 2-man delegation.
The list of Chibok girls who might be soon released was composed on the basis of the discovery that they are married with children. The names were made available to those in attendance.
By the time of filing this report 20 out of 30 names from the list have been obtained, and the list of commanders was received in full.
Christian girls: Mary Usman, Julie Yakubu, Jummai Paul, Rahila Bitrus, Rabika Lukas, Rodha John, Naomi Yohanna, Ruth Kolo, Tabitha Fagu and Hannatu Isiaku.
Muslim girls: Kwadugu Manu, Hauwa Wule, Aishatu Grema, Aisha Lawan, Halima Gamba, Kabu Malla, Mariam Abubakar, Rakiya Gamba, Hamsatu Abubakar and Hasana Adamu.

Boko Haram commanders (19): Awwal Albani Sultaniya, Malam Abdullahi Damasak, Mallam Bashir, Baa Malam, Mallam Tijjani al Barnawi, Mallam Musa Moby, Mallam Awara, Mallam Zindar Zindawi, Baa Alhaji, Bana Mongono, Baraa Mallami, Sheikh Umar ibn Mustapha, Mallam Jabir Al Jjihad, Tanko al Kurd, Mallam Aradu, Abidina Janzila and Mallam Aboul Kaka.
The source added that the sides were very close to sealing the deal.
“We hope that at the resumption of talks after the Eid-el Kabir festival, all the negotiators will have a common ground on all issues involved in the deal so that the girls can at least regain freedom. Although the sect may opt for a phased release, beginning with 30 girls, the government is insisting on wholesale freedom. There is a ray of hope.”
Another source disclosed why the authorities insisted on the release of all 219 girls.
“Some of the commanders are ‘deadly’ because they are ready to lay down their lives any time. They do not hide their commitment to the sect even in their various detention facilities in Maiduguri, Kaduna and Abuja.
“In fact, security agencies are skeptical about freedom for Malam Abdullahi Damasak, who is rated as the ‘most lethal’ among the commanders. The government is circumspect that if the 19 commanders are released, Boko Haram might only let 30 girls free instead of 219. The government does not want to fall into any negotiation trap which will compound the woes of the abducted girls.”
When contacted, the government officials were unwilling to comment on any development of the situation, but civil rights activist Fred Eno, who was also involved in the negotiations, told The Telegraph of UK last week:
“We felt the negotiations would go better with the backing of a major international humanitarian organisation like the ICRC. There have been two or three ICRC people at each meeting – international staff rather than Nigerians – and they accompany the government security agents to the various prisons and detention centres to identify the people that Boko Haram want released.”
Abandoned Chibok girl pregnant
It would be recalled that yesterday the news broke out that one of the missing girls was found close to Kwarihi village near Mubi, Adamawa State.

National Chairman of Chibok Community Development Association, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, told The Cable that the girl was likely pregnant.
According to Punch, Bitrus said they were not sure that the found girl was from Chibok, because her name was not in the previously released names of students abducted in April.
“However, we are still trying to establish if really she is from Chibok, because from our sources, the last name of the released girl does not tally with the surname of the person bearing the first name of the released girl captured in our records and whose father is a carpenter at Chibok. So, we are still trying to work out every detail.”
He also said she might be seriously traumatized.
“I was speaking Kibaku to her, but she did not respond; she was incoherent. She may be having mental issues as a result of trauma.”
The official added that based on the preliminary tests she was pregnant. The final confirmation is yet expected from the qualified doctor.
“When she was picked up, she was taken to a clinic, not a standard hospital, and tests were carried out on her. From the tests, it was said she is pregnant, but that is still in the speculative domain because a qualified medical doctor has not confirmed that she is pregnant.”
However according to National Mirror, the Chairman of Chibok Community in Abuja, Tsambido Hosea Abana, confirmed in a telephone interview yesterday that she was 4-months pregnant.
Abana also said that the girl was for sure the abducted Chibok student:
“Susan is actually one of our daughters abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok.”
Nearly 300 girls were kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents on April 14 from Chibok school, Borno State. While 57 later managed to escape, the 219 are still held in captivity. The circulating reports say another swap deal, girls for the sect prisoners, might soon take place.

He disclosed that he was married but is no longer with his wife and he has three children from the marriage.
Recounting what happened, he said he was at home when he saw the little girl going to the toilet. He then called her into his room, locked the door and the window and forcefully had his way with her.
Ojaogbe said: “It was later when I went to mould block that I was told that policemen from Afuze came to arrest me.

How I Mistakenly Slept With My Fiancee’s Best Friend

How I Mistakenly Slept With My Fiancee's Best Friend

Dear ExclusiveBaze
Kindly Help me post this to your Reader and Hide My ID. I will like ti share How I Mistakenly Slept With My Fiancee’s Best Friend, and how your reader can help me profer solution to this problem.
I’m in a very happy relationship with a very nice and loving man. Let’s call him John, though that’s not his real name. He’s 34, I’m 28, we’ve been together for about 6 months now. Everything is perfect, we are both committed to building a future together. But something happened recently and I’m afraid it’s about to cut my joy short.

My boy friend’s elder brother recently had a house warming party and I attended the party with my man. Only to get there and meet another guy I had been intimate with in the past! His name is Frank. To make matters worse, my boyfriend knows Frank very well and he even introduced me to Frank at the housewarming party as his woman. Turns out Frank is John’ elder brother’s friend!
What happened between me and Frank happened way before I met John. It was at a club in Enugu, a one night stand…
I had gone clubbing with girlfriends. At the club I met Frank, he was really nice, he bought me drinks, we had a good time, I got carried away and ended up being drunk and hor-ny in his car. The rest is history.
All I remember is that when I woke up the next day in Frank’s house, I was mortified at what I had done. I practically took off and that was the last time I saw or heard from him till that day at the housewarming party.
I’m afraid that my future with John is in trouble. This is his brother’s close friend. I’m afraid that this guy may talk to someone about that incident and somehow, John will get to hear of it too.
So, I’ve been very worried. Should let John know, no matter how little, that I ever had something to do with Frank or should I just keep quiet?

Zookeepers were seen desperately trying to ward off the crocodiles in a bid to stop them from attacking the woman but their efforts failed.Police identified Inyai from her documents floating in the water.

Yoruba People Are The Most Sophisticated Nigerians - Ojo Madueke

Mr Ojo Madueke who is Nigeria’s Ambassador to Canada has recently asserted that the Yorubas are the most enlightened, knowledgeable and experienced people in all the tribes of Nigeria.
Ojo Madueke
Ojo Madueke
The Ambassador while speaking in a gathering of Nigerians in Canada during an event organized by the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG) made it known that Yoruba people are the most sophisticated Nigerians.
Mr. Madueke, explained that although his expression contradicts his ”Igboness”, it has been a phenomenon that Nigeria benefits immensely only when the Yoruba are fully involved in governance, adding that as a former officer of the Biafra army, he knew what he was talking about.

However, when the guest lecturer at the event, Professor Jacob Olupona, put it to the Ambassador and former Foreign Minister that why did President Goodluck Jonathan not include any Yoruba in the top seven most important cabinet positions, if truly Yoruba people are of great importance.  The former Foreign Minister returned to the podium to explain the sophistication of the Yoruba.  He said that the President has all the ethnic groups well represented in his cabinet, but would not talk further on the issue.

Mr. Madueke also explained that the Igbo tribe is eating from the negative outcome of  the 1966 coup by Nigerian army officers led by Major Kaduna Nzeogwu which recorded the death of Igbos, not minding the fact that the coup-plotters did not consult with the Igbos before embarking on the killings of certain post-independence leaders.
However, another speaker at the event, Omoyele Sowore, a Sahara Reporters official implored many at the event not to take the Ambassador’s ‘flattering of  the Yoruba tribe’ as a compliment. He disabused the minds of many at the event saying that if the former PDP National Secretary’s remarks were more than mere flattery, he and his People’s Democratic Party (PDP), would not spend so much energy and effort to sponsor to power and prominence some of the worst Yorubas.

Omoyele Sowore
Omoyele Sowore
Mr. Sowore called the attention of the listeners at the gathering to the recent elections in Osun and Ekiti States, where he said that the candidates of the PDP were people with well-documented criminal track records.
It would be recalled that in January 2010, during a UN press conference, in which  Mr. Madueke was the then Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, there was a showdown when Mr Sowore as a journalist asked Mr Madueke a question during a press conference at the United Nations in New York.  The question which bothered on the Foreign minister not speaking to the ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua for over 60 days, but said said he was getting his instructions from him as he liberally travelled the world.

Nigerian Army Insists Boko Haram Leader Shekau Is Dead!

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) made it clear that the military had killed the head of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau.
SHEKAU1-e1411577009541-1024x744
The liquidated terrorist has a great resemblance to the man from all the latest Boko Haram videos
The DHQ has released a statement claiming that the Nigerian Army killed “Abubakar Shekau”, the man who took up the mantle of leadership after the real head of the sect died in unclear circumstances in 2013.
SaharaReporters made it known that the military, in a recent raid in Konduga, had killed sect’s commander. Many of Boko Haram fighters soldiers have surrendered and laid down their weapons.

Boko-Haram-Members

While commending the efforts of his men on the said issue, the Defence Information Spokesperson, Maj.Gen. Chris Olukolade, confirmed that on the 12th and 17th September 2014, the insurgents attempted to violate the security in the region and tried to enter Konduga to perpetrate their atrocities.
The statement explained that the air and land forces deployed to confront the men of the Boko Haram group fought fiercely bringing down the head of the group. Although many terrorists, including some of their commanders, lost their lives in encounters which lasted an average of about 5 hours each, Olukolade made it known that men of the force fought like never before.
Learn more from the statement below:
Abubakar-Shekau-Imposter-Killed-In-Borno
Boko Haram terrorists, including the man acting as Shekau in the latest videos, died in combat
Nigerian troops have been conducting coordinated air and land operations in furtherance of efforts at containing the terrorists in the North East part of the country. Somehow, it became apparent that the terrorists in continuation of their campaign of terror were determined to take over communities around Maiduguri which is their prime target. There was therefore the need to ensure that communities such as Konduga were protected. It is noteworthy that the terrorists made not less than four attempts between 12 and 17 September 2014 to violate the security and enter Konduga to perpetrate their atrocities. Air and land forces were subsequently deployed to handle the situation.
The convoy of combat vehicles typical of terrorists’ mission that involves their top commanders, were fiercely engaged by the land and air forces. Several of the terrorists including some of their commanders lost their lives in the encounters which lasted an average of about 5 hours each. The troops captured some of the terrorists and their equipment. In the course of those encounters, one Mohammed Bashir who has been acting or posing on videos as the deceased Abubakar Shekau, the eccentric character known as leader of the group died. Since the name Shekau has become a brand name for the terrorists’ leader, the Nigerian military remains resolute to serve justice to anyone who assumes that designation or title as well as all terrorists that seek to violate the freedom and territory of Nigeria.
On restoring normalcy after the encounter, inhabitants of the community who were victims of terrorists activities corroborated information on the identity of Bashir Mohammed alias Abubakar Shekau, alias Abacha Abdullahi Geidam alias Damasack etc. Indeed, the recent devastation on the leadership of the insurgents is attributable to the renewed commitment to the mission of eradicating terrorism in our country.
Meanwhile, a total of 135 terrorists have yesterday evening surrendered along with equipment to troops around Biu Local Government Area. A group of 88 submitted themselves at Mairiga/Bun – Yadi while another group of 45 terrorists were taken in around Mubi – Michika. They are all being interrogated and processed in conformity with the dictates of standard best practices.
The Defence Headquarters applauds the gallantry of the Nigerian troops who have remained undaunted and professional in prosecuting this campaign against terror. The keen interest exhibited by our neighbours and allies is commendable and we appreciate them. All allies in the war against terrorism are hereby assured of the Nigerian military’s resolve to maintain momentum in the efforts to decimate and defeat terrorists. The invaluable efforts toward achieving sustainable peace and victory against the terrorists are highly appreciated.
It is nevertheless necessary to alert all citizens that there is still the need for even more vigilance and cooperation with the security forces. Everybody is required to remain alert to ensure that we are not taken unawares by terrorist elements who might want to carry-out isolated attacks in any part of our country.

It would be recalled that just yesterday, fifty Boko Haram members were arrested while trying to move from Damboa area of Borno state to Gombe in a goat truck.

Chibok Schoolgirls Not Rescued: Nigerians Confused, Bitter

Nigerians and the world community are confused by the controversy surrounding reports by the Nigerian military on the status of the Chibok schoolgirls who were abducted by Boko Haram in mid-April, 2014.

First excited with the news of Chibok schoolgirls’ release, then disappointed and confused

Dozens of Nigerians took to their preferred social media platforms to express their emotions and opinions. Understandably, many feedbacks were grim and ironical. Some blamed the authorities for not paying enough attention to the problem of insecurity on the whole and to the release of Chibok schoolgirls’ release in particular.

Still, the majority stressed the necessity to focus on the Chibok schoolgirls’ safe release.

Hamisu Gumel commented on Facebook: These people are morally bankrupt. Who would lie to mislead Nigeria in an issue that is supposed to be of national emergency? Edet Okon UYe expressed worst fears: No need to rescue this girls. They don’t exist anymore. Probably they are suicide bombers.

Samson Bukar Mshelmbula, however, defended the military: They are human. You mean you never make mistakes at all? It’s a honourable think for someone to make a statement and within 30 minutes retract same.

Chibok schoolgirls: rescued or not?

Yesterday, several Nigerian and foreign media outlets reported the break-through in rescuing Chibok schoolgirls from the Boko Haram captivity. It has been alleged that an undisclosed number of the girls have newly escaped and were seen near the Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri, Borno State. Almost immediately, however, the information has been denied by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters. It has all started with the tweets by the BBC Africa:

Additionally, Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade, spokesman for the Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters, has confirmed the information to Nigeria’s Premium Times (according to Premium Times reports).
Shortly after the initial reports, this message appeared both on official Twitter and Facebook accounts of the Defence HQ:

BBC Africa and, subsequently, the Nigerian media, have spread Olukolade’s explanation thatthere were girls in military custody, but not those from Chibok as originally thought.

Below is an audiofile of Olukolade’s interview (his statements start 2 minutes into the news report) obtained from the Inspiration FM 92.3 website:
listen to ‘General Olukolade Chibok Girls Blunder’ on audioBoom
Leadership’s “impeccable anonymous military source” disclosed: “What we have in the barracks were some 32 out of the 57 Chibok schoolgirls that were being conveyed to Kaduna where the state government had arranged new schools for them. And for them to get to Kaduna safely, they needed to be accompanied by some security personnel.”
The source added top officials in Abuja were extremely  concerned about the development and reprehended the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army for allowing the seemingly false reports to appear in the media even before the Defence Headquarters or the presidency were briefed.

I’ve never said anything about the release of the Chibok schoolgirls – Olukolade

Chris Olukolade has taken to his official Twitter account to express his side of the confusing story in a series of tweets:

It would be recalled that almost 300 Chibok schoolgirls were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists on 14th April, 2014. On April 16, the military officials have claimed that the majority of the girls have escaped their captors, with only eight remaining in the terrorists’ hands. However, after the Chibok schoolgirls’ parents and residents of the town have challenged the report, this information was dismissed by the Army as incorrect. Reacting to the development, Mr. Olukolade had stated the report was “not intended to deceive the public”. By mid-October, the girls will have been in captivity for six months.

Boko Haram Agree To Release All 219 Chibok Girls

Chibok girls showed in the video released by Abubakar Shekau
Fresh reports say that Boko Haram group has finally agreed to free all the Chibok girls for 18 sect commanders currently in detention.
It would be recalled that less than two weeks ago it was reported that the insurgents had agreed to release only 30 female students abducted in April in exchange for 18 key group members. The decision was allegedly made after the Nigerian authorities had held secret talks with one of Boko Haram seniors identified as Umar.

This Saturday it was gathered that the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Nigerian government were holding long-time negotiations on the issue.
Finally, according to the Nation, the agreement on 219 girls release was reached.
It has been reported that the two parties asked their representatives to go back to their leaders to discuss the new conditions.
At the meeting said to be facilitated by the President, Civil Rights Congress (CRC), Comrade Shehu Sani, it was allegedly claimed that if the girls were tried to be released by force, it might lead to fatalities.
Chibok girls showed in the video released by Abubakar Shekau
Chibok girls showed in the video released by Abubakar Shekau
One of those who attended the session said:
“The sect shifted its position and agreed to release all the girls instead of 30 Christian married girls it had promised. But Boko Haram said it does not trust the government going by previous experience. If the government had respected previous talks, the Chibok girls were initially meant to be off the hook during the Eid-el Fitr festival. Again about two weeks ago, a delegation was already in Maiduguri until the swap deal was bungled. Some security agents only advised on the release of six out of the 18 leaders of the sect. They rated the rest 12 as dangerous. When the insurgents found out, they backtracked and demanded the release of the 18 leaders. The development paved the way for the latest talks in Abuja which involved the ICRC.”
The source also said that the Nigerian authorities promised to release the 18 leaders as soon as all the girls were let go.
Another source present at the session said:
“We generally agreed that all the parties should go back to their leaders on the agreement reached. The government said no to piecemeal release of the girls and Boko Haram claimed that it will not have any business with the government until all the 18 leaders of the sect are freed. After the Eid-el-Kabir festival, the two parties will meet again on the terms to finalise the agreement or part ways. Before the meeting rose, Boko Haram representatives warned against the use of force to liberate the girls. It also made it clear that it had the “capacity to take on the Federal Government for the next 45 years.”
Regarding the insurgency in the North-East of Nigeria one of the sources said that “the outcome of the latest round of talks will determine whether they should ceasefire or not”.

It would be recalled that more than 200 girls were abducted on April 14 by Boko Haram in Chibok of the troubled Borno State. Despite both the military and social involvement of various countries worldwide, the majority of students are still missing.

PHOTOS: Borno Authorities To Spend N100m On Chibok Girls’ Education

Borno State authorities said September 24 that they set aside N100 million annually for education of the escaped Chibok girls.
While more than 200 female students abducted in April by Boko Haram insurgents are still missing, 57 children managed to escape and will be supported by Borno government.
According to NAN, governor Kashim Shettima made this known in the capital Maiduguri as he received members of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Chibok education6
“The state government is spending N1.4 million on each of the girls per annum to ensure that they have access to good and sound education… We are actually sending them to schools around Zaria, Kaduna and Jos, so that they can have conducive learning environment.”
Chibok education4
The governor said that the distributed amount would cover all the expenditures charged by the schools.
As 6 out of 57 girls already received scholarships from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to enroll in his private school, Borno government will take care for the remaining 51, Shettima said.
Chibok education2
“Out of the 51, 36 have already arrived Maiduguri, leaving the balance of 15.”
Chibok education3
Borno State leader described their decision to invest this money into girls education as duty:
“We have a duty to ensure that they have access to best education affordable. This is because they are our daughters, our sisters who are lucky to have escaped from terrorists’ hands.”
Chibok education5
Meanwhile controversial reports broke out yesterday that more Chibok girls were released and driven to Maiduguri. Strong beliefs occurred when Brig. Gen. Chris Olukolade, spokesman for the Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters, allegedly confirmed the information.
However later that evening Olukolade said the girls spotted in the buses were not Chibok girls and .
The bitter truth is that over 200 children kidnapped by Boko Haram have been missing for more than 5 months.
